ministries, private sector industries, co-operatives, residential/commercial
complexes…etc. |
The Trading Divisions in all our centres follow up and participate in government
“supplies” tenders. Our marketers coordinate with buyers and specifiers to
ensure that we are well aware – at an early stage – of the requirements and are
prepared accordingly.
Most of these projects start by the request to submit a competitive bid on or
before a specified “closing date”. Some tenders are publicly announced, othersare by invitations to pre-qualified companies and some are semi-tenders by
direct negotiations. We participate in all kinds of these bids depending on the
service or material required.
We find the best “outside source”, supply the source with sufficient and relevant
information to determine the suitability of his goods and consequently purchase
the tender documents and forward it to him as soon as practicable. We prepare
our part of the bid – for local services and supplies – and combine our bid with
that of the “outside source” and submit one complete bid.
Nearly all government tenders require bank guarantees for bids and for
performance. In certain projects an advance payment is allowed against a bank
guarantee. Payment terms to the outside source and the issue of the required
bank guarantees are all subject to risk analysis, remuneration and negotiations.
We participate in tenders with Ministries such as Electricity and Water, Defence,
Interior, Health, Education and Public Works as well as oil companies,
refineries, water desalination and petrochemical companies. |
